Our Patient Assess Representative (PAR) greets patients or guests in a friendly and courteous manner. The PAR also performs check-in and check-out functions by obtaining accurate patient demographic information, financial information, and insurance information, obtaining necessary signatures, and collecting co-pays. The PAR must maintain a neat, professional appearance and an organized work area.

Qualifications required:
- High School Graduate or equivalent
- 3 years consecutive experience in medical registration/admitting in an emergency department setting (required)
- Computer Savvy!!!
Essential Job functions and responsibilities:
· Front Desk – Using positive relational skills to greet the patients and guests at the Emergency Center. Assess the required services and direct accordingly. Gather demographic information from the patient, family members, or friends. Obtain all necessary signatures and financial data to ensure accurate and efficient billing for patient accounts. Maintain accurate logs of patient information. Answer phones, take clear messages, and log them in the message book or direct callers to the appropriate individuals. Manage office supplies and order them as delegated. Demonstrate knowledge and respect for patients’ rights to privacy and confidentiality. Ensure patient safety and privacy at all times.
· Financial – Collects cash, checks, and credit card payments for emergency department co-pays and payments on accounts, maintaining an accurate financial ledger. Responsible for daily reconciliation of patient accounts.
· Cleanliness—Participates in maintaining the overall cleanliness of the facility, including sweeping, vacuuming, and mopping floors, cleaning restrooms, and maintaining a clean lobby.
· Communication—Communicates with patients, families, physicians, other department personnel, and peers in an accurate, courteous, and professional manner in accordance with the Emergency Center’s core values and customer service basics.
· Professional Development – Participates in monthly staff meetings and performance improvement activities.
· Other – Performs other tasks and projects as assigned by the Director of Nursing or a member of management.
